BACKGROUND

Spalding is a world-famous manufacturer and distributor of sports equipment and sportswear. Founded in 1876 by Albert Goodwill Spalding, the brand is dedicated to providing athletic equipment to athletes. Spalding has been associated with the NBA for more than 30 years and has partnered with more than 55 sports leagues and leagues around the world. As a global company, it owns several well-known clothing brands and is headquartered in the United States.

Spalding needs to implement group standardization plan and localized finance and supply chain plan in China and Hong Kong. At the same time, the consolidated statement function needs to be realized in Dynamics 365 to achieve the goal of unified financial control of the group.

PAIN POINTS

o Lack of visibility into global supply chains.

o Manual processing commission and return point time-consuming and laborious

o Data inconsistency between front-end e-commerce website and ERP, order flow and delivery delay often.

o The inconsistency of accounting standards between Hong Kong branch and China branch leads to the difficulty in merging financial data.

o Chinese localized financial processing, manual consolidation of financial statement data cannot ensure the correctness.

o Multi-channel wholesale and retail businesses are not well managed.

SOLUTIONS

According to the customer and business situation, arrange the project schedule, dividing the project into two phases: In stage one, it needs to design a global solution by redesigning business master data, including product, bill of Materials and account tables, and deploy standard products and customer personalized business modules in the US and Mexico. 

In the second stage, financial modules, deployed in Hong Kong and China branches, need to merge the financial accounts of the two companies and deploy supply chain localization module and e-commerce integration interface in China branch.

RESULTS

Built a unified system to support customers' wholesale and retail business, integrate the e-commerce platform, such as Tmall, with Spalding ERP system; based on Dynamics AX, calculate sales commission and rebate set efficiency, greatly improve processing efficiency, then automatically generate management report.
